Inside Ocoboa

Before this was a platform, it existed as a feeling.

Ocoboa began with a belief that art belongs far beyond gallery walls. It belongs in the spaces where life unfolds quietly and repeatedly: above mantelpieces, beside unmade beds, along hallway walls, and in the corners of home where everyday rituals take place.

Rooted in abstract expression, home and collectivity, Ocoboa is an art-led lifestyle brand exploring the relationship between creativity and daily life. It exists as both an artistic practice and a collective space, creating opportunities for art to be experienced not as something separate from living, but as part of it.

The name itself arrived slowly. Inspired by artist Mary Lovelace O'Neal and the feeling her work left behind, particularly her Lampblack series, Ocoboa grew from an interest in abstraction as a space for memory, movement and possibility. Not as a direct translation, but as a response. A feeling carried forward.

At its heart, Ocoboa is committed to creating visibility and opportunities for artists, particularly Black women working within abstraction. Through original works, collaborations, artist features and future collections, it seeks to build pathways for artists and audiences to connect in meaningful ways.

As Ocoboa grows, so does the world around it. Beyond artwork, the vision extends into interiors, creative spaces and experiences that bring art into everyday environments.

Because collecting art is rarely a single moment.

It is a lifelong relationship.
