Making Space for Women In Abstraction

Ocoboa exists to make discovering women artists feel exciting, personal and accessible.

There are remarkable women creating abstract work, yet many remain outside the names and stories we encounter most often. Ocoboa is a space to bring more of those artists, and the ideas behind their work, into view.

Our focus is contemporary abstraction, with a particular commitment to artists who have too often been overlooked, including Black women and women of colour.

But this isn’t only about visibility.

It is about creating a platform where artists can retain their individual voice, experiment freely and share their work without being reduced to a label.

Ocoboa is still at the beginning. As it grows, it will become a place to discover art, meet the women creating it and find work that stays with you.
